Twelve years ago, William came into our lives. We had lost our wonderful Sunra a few years before, a Weimy that I had gotten as an adorable rambunctious puppy. But this time, we wanted to provide a home for a dog in need so we turned to Northern California Weimaraner Rescue and found our beloved William.

He was not without challenges, an escape artist if left alone and the perpetrator of many “weim crimes.” He could open every drawer and sliding door in the house which he did to help himself to treats or a nap in the sun. If we were out of the house and he heard kids playing at the school across the street he would hop the 6-foot fence to join them (I got many a call from the school secretary saying take your time to pick him up, he was such a sweet dog and the kids adored him).

William had a huge heart to balance the mischief and loved people petting his long soft ears. Full of joy for his walks, runs and swims (so much energy!) and he did literal happy spin dances for his dinner even at 14 years old. There is a huge hole in our hearts and home, but know he is at peace. Thank you for the gift of William.
