To Our Dearest Trey,
We were so fortunate you came into our lives when you were just 7 months old through NCWR. We loved you at first sight and you fit right in.
You were athletic, full of energy, and always looked forward to our next adventure, whether it was our daily walk or weekend hikes. You brought us immense joy, warmth, and friendship. You liked to climb onto my lap during dinner time to give me a big hug, even though you were all grown up and could barely fit. You insisted on having your own seat at the table whenever we ate and listened to every family discussion with full attention and curiosity. You kept us harmonious as a family, and welcomed all of our family members and friends whenever they visited, as you showered them with affection and playfulness. You were always cuddly, sweet and full of wonderment. But most of all, you taught us what unconditional love, trust and devotion really mean.

One of the things you enjoyed most was our daily walks. Even though you liked to walk ahead of me, you always paused to look back as if you wanted to make sure I was there behind you. As you embark on your new journey, may you carry that same spirit of adventure and exploration. And should you happen to glance back from wherever you are, don’t worry – know that I’ll always be there for you, looking after you and making sure you are OK.
You left us peacefully in our arms with love all around you. Thank you, Trey, for all the unforgettable memories you brought to us and the love that we shared. We all miss you dearly, and you will forever be in our hearts.
Kenneth, Rebecca, Rianne, Conrad and May
