With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved Hans on the morning of March 9th, 2024.

Hans (Hansel) was a two year (?) old stray Weim/Lab mix rescued seven years ago while chained together in a dirt lot in the Central Valley with his sister, Gretel. She was adopted immediately, but Hans languished in a foster home for some time until we spotted, and immediately adopted him. He had the temperament of a Lab, and the birdiness of a Weim.

According to the Vet, he had a ruptured malignant heart tumor, and bled to death internally. So it was painless, and relatively quick. Mary and I are heartbroken, and our other Weim, Jill keeps wandering the house looking for him. Of the many Weims we have had over the past 60 years, he was by far the best, and will forever be missed.

Hans, dear boy, we will meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.
