AVAILABLE SOON:  PIPER is a lovely Blue female Weim, small, 50 lbs, who is currently with our trainer in Redwood City. Once she heals from her spay surgery, our trainer will be working with her, and seeing how she does with small playgroups.  We will still need to learn more about her before she is ready to go to an adopter, but we know she will need someone that is experienced with the breed, and can exercise her. She will benefit with ongoing training and possibly socialization with other dogs once we know she can play with them outside the home.  So far she has been very dominant, and may do best as an only dog. She's an absolute sweetheart with people!

ADOPTION PENDING: One year old TITAN is very sweet, is good with all other dogs, and loves to hike and camp. He's not a fan of the water, but loves a good game of fetch! 

​Adoption Process

We strive to post most dogs that we intake on social media as well as our website. Once a dog is posted as “available for adoption” we will ask for applications for that particular dog.  We will review, interview, and select the adopter most suitable for that Weimaraner’s needs.  Due to constraints in volunteer availability, we may not be able to interview every applicant for every dog.  The adoption application is located here.

​Application and Approval

You must complete the entire application and approval process before meeting any of our rescue dogs. This process consists of completing an application using the button below, a phone  interview,  and a home visit (during the pandemic, we’ll ask for photos of your yard instead).

For the safety of adopting families and our rescue dogs, we rarely place dogs in homes with children under 10 years old unless it is a puppy or the dog has a known, positive history of living with babies & toddlers.

Our ideal adoptive home has:

• minimal alone time
• vigorous exercise every day
• lots of family activity
• a minimum of a small potty yard attached to the house with a 6 foot high fence

​Each situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Please be patient as it may take a few days to respond to your application.

Adoption Fees

Our adoption fees vary per adoption, ranging from $0 to $700 depending on many factors but primarily the dog’s age. Sometimes we need to spend very little on vet care, rehab etc. and sometimes we spend thousands to give a Weim a chance at a happy life.

If we based our fees on our costs for each dog respectively, young healthy dogs with small fees would be quite easy to place. Older dogs with issues and huge fees however would be very hard to place. Similar to insurance, our adoption fee structure spreads our costs over all our rescues to make sure every dog finds a forever home.

Payment of adoption fees and a signed adoption contract are required when adopting a dog.
